I’ve stretched my title with a rubberband of humor! I’m nowhere near perfect…and not always polite. But I’ve been working diligently on patience and perseverance…
Please read all the way to the end because there’s one more bit of humor, via scripture references. I promise it’s NOT my usual long pile!
😇😇😇
It takes more than good manners
To be perfectly polite
One must be close to sainthood
To even get it half-way right
That’s why I pray for grace each day
Poured out on self and others
And while I’m asking God for mercies
I say, “add more patience, please”
~
I’m working hard on Perseverance
It’s taking longer than I thought…
You know my heart, Lord, is to please You
This best effort’s all I’ve got–
See, Perseverance requires Patience*
It’s a challenge, Sir…just where to start**

It’s interesting that *James 1:4, in the 2 versions of the Bible I’ve referenced, would suggest “patience” and “perseverance” are synonymous. So, being an English Major, I checked with a couple sources–both Collins Dictionary and Thesaurus.com agree.
But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. NKJV
Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. NIV
**My last reference scripture was of Great Encouragment to the poem’s author (moi):
I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing more than you did at first. Rev 2:19, NIV
‘I know your deeds, and your love and faith, and service and perseverance, and that your deeds of late are greater than at first. Rev 2:19, NASB
